The Website Design Process
A step by step guide to creating your website:
Domain Name: Your domain name is the most important decision you have to make when going online as it is the first thing a search engine crawler sees. Having decided on the name for your website, assuming no one else has taken that name, we will register your domain name for you. (www.yourname.co.uk) If you already have a domain name registered, that's great, we can simply direct it at your new website.
Domain Name Tips & Advice.
Pages: We need to know exactly how many pages are required and what they will be called, so we can create a navigation layout of the site. A website would usually contain some or all of the following pages: Home, About Us, Products or Services, Portfolio, Testimonials, Downloads, Prices, Special Offers, Contact etc; etc.
Content: This doesn’t have to be exact but the amount of text in relation to images and video etc will influence the design
Design: We can then start to design, providing you with mock-ups for your approval at key stages and, with your input; we work our way up to a final layout.
Construction: Having decided on the layout we then proceed with the construction using the web standards outlined by the W3C to ensure your website will be easily accessible to all users and the search engines.
Testing: We then test your website in various web browsers such as Chrome, Internet Explorer and Firefox.
Hosting: Your website needs to be hosted on a trusted secure server and uploaded to the world wide web with it's own unique address for access. It is through this address that people anywhere in the world can find, open, and interact with your site.
With web hosting you do not own the server or the space, you pay for space to store your website for a fixed amount of time. You can pay this monthly, quarterly or yearly.
After care: We provide an aftercare service to keep your website up and running and to make any changes or updates for you as needed.
